Privacy policy

Saved places, saved day plans, places marked as visited, your preferences and your chosen location are stored in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are not sent to us or anyone else. We cannot see them, and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently.

Responses from the data sources are cached the same way, so the app loads faster and asks those services for less.

If you press “Use my location”, your browser asks your permission first. You can refuse, and the app stays fully usable through postal code entry or by picking an area.

Your coordinates are used in your browser to work out distances. They are only transmitted if you use a feature that needs an address looked up, in which case they are sent to Singapore’s OneMap service to answer that one request. They are not logged or stored by us.

Requests to government data services are made by our server rather than by your browser. Those agencies therefore see our server, not you. Our host keeps standard access logs, as any web host does.

Two things are loaded straight from other providers, which means those providers can see your IP address in the ordinary way that loading any image or map does:

• Photographs, served from the image libraries credited beside each picture.
• Map tiles, served by OpenStreetMap.

This site may display advertising supplied by Google. Where it does, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info. Google’s own practices are described in its partner sites policy.

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
